Udupi, Jun 24: Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar said that Rs two crore are kept aside for the construction of bridge over Mattavu rivulet which is in the naxal affected area.
Sunil Kumar was speaking after inaugurating the free medical check-up and treatment camp organized by Anti-Naxal Force camp Hebri, Police station Hebri, Udupi district health department, Mudradi gram panchayat, Lions Club of Hebri city, Vyavasaya Seva Sahakara Sangha of Hebri - Varanga and various departments and organizations at the premises of Sri Laxmi Narayana temple Kabbinale on Sunday, June 23.
Sunil Kumar further said, "Rs two crore are already reserved for the construction of the bridge at Mattavu, which is a long-pending demand. Due to the legal hassle with the forest department, the project is getting delayed. We are hopeful of getting the go ahead from the forest department soon and the work will start after that. In addition, Rs 50 lac grant is reserved for the work of Melmata road, the construction of which will start in the month of July. Only when all the departments of the government become people-friendly, it is possible to give a pro-people administration. Every citizen should get education, health and basic infrastructure. This programme that is being organized by the police department is a model."

Mudradi gram panchayat president Shashikala Poojary, Taluk panchayat member Laxmi Dayananda, Hebri Tehsildar Maheshchandra, Karkala taluk health officer Dr Krishnananda, Hebri station officer Mahabala Shetty and Hebry medical officer Dr Narasimha Nayak were present.
