Mysuru, Jun 23: Karnataka police have arrested an elderly man from the city in connection with the hoax bomb threat call that was made to the BJP central office in New Delhi.
Senior citizen, Sukan Raj (85), a resident of Siddhartha Nagar in the city is the arrested person.
It is learnt that the arrested accused is mentally unsound. Police are investigating further.
It may be recalled that on June 22, the BJP central office in Ashoka Road, New Delhi received a call saying that a bomb was kept in the office. The police and bomb disposal squad had rushed to the spot immediately and checked the whole building. Later it was known that it was a hoax call.
Police, during the investigation, traced the call back to the city of Mysuru. For the same reason, the case was handed over to Karnataka police.
