Mangaluru: Murder of youth - Court absolves all four accused

Mangaluru, Jun 22: The first additional district and sessions court here has absolved four persons accused of murdering a youth. The judgement was delivered on /friday June 21. The case relates to the killing of a youth named Nisarga on September 15, 2017 in a park near Kodakkal railway bridge in Alape village in the city outskirts.

Puneet, Sharat, Nikhil, and Prakash were accused in the case, Judge of the court, Sharada B, who conducted hearing, came to the conclusion that the prosecution has failed to conclusively prove the charges levelled against the accused.

Nisarga had berated Puneet from Veeranagara. On this issue, there was enmity between the two. Puneet, with the tacit aim of murdering Nisarga, joined with friends, Sharat, Nikhil, and Prakash, attended the Mosaru Kudike festivities at Veeranagara. When Puneet and his friends were returning, they saw Puneet sitting on the railway tracks. Puneet along with his friends, stabbed Nisarga to death, it was said. Nisarga's friends had taken him to a hospital and admitted into intensive care unit of the hospital but he died at the hospital.

The case was registered in Kankanady police station. The police who conducted probe, had filed charge sheet in the court. Advocates Venu Kumar and Yuvaraj K Ameen had represented the accused in the court.
