Bengaluru, Jun 20: The state high court (HC), on Wednesday June 19, dropped charges of violation of poll code and delivery of inflammatory address levelled against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.
Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat had filed petition in the HC seeking to quash the case filed against him. The single judge bench of the HC presided over by Justice P S Dinesh Kumar, which took up the petition, ordered to dismiss hearing being undertaken against Bhat in the subordinate court.
Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat argued that the accusations made against him were in the form of non-cognizable offences and the legal procedures needed to be followed in such cases were not followed. He also claimed that the complaint and the case registered relating to the complaint are politically motivated and had hence pleaded in the court to dismiss the complaint, first information report, and the hearing going on in the subordinate court.
