Kuwait, Jun 19: The company for which 72 persons including 33 Mangaluru-origin people, who faced untold miseries after visiting that country for employment, were working earlier, has asked 41 among them to produce government project letters and air tickets within seven days towards facilitating their return journey to India.
The said decision was taken at a meeting held on Monday, June 17 at Shoun meeting held in the presence of Indian embassy officials and representatives of the said company. The employees need about Rs 25,000 each to procure air tickets. They are hoping that someone will extend help to them in the regard.
These persons, who are facing problems at Kuwait, had gone to that country under a scheme of working for government projects. But the agency which arranged for their travel with the promise of working for government projects had recruited them in private company. If their Vias have to be cancelled and passports are handed back, they need to submit GP letter to Shoun without fail. But there is question of who will issue GP letter to them.
If the employees produce GP letter and ticket bought for undertaking journey to India, Shoun cancels the tickets and sends passports to Indian embassy. From there, these employees have to collect them. But the employees who are facing financial crisis, are finding it hard to buy air tickets.
In the meantime, it is said that the company concerned is pressurizing the employees to sign resignation letters which it has prepared, to prove that the company does not have nothing to do with these people.
