Mangaluru, Jun 17: Superhit Konkani movie ‘Kantaar’ starring Ester Noronha and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff will be hitting screens in Mangaluru-Udupi theatres on August 9.
The most awaited Konkani movie of the year 'Kantaar’ produced by Janet Noronha, directed by Nilesh Malkar, starring Jackie Shroff, Ester Noronha, Noel Sean, several other Goan artistes and the Nightingale Lorna herself for the first time as a playback singer and on the silver screen is running successfully with houseful shows all over Goa.
'Kantaar' is a musical journey of a young girl, Angelica who discovers the philosophy of life through a man of an older generation Jordan, who knows the truths and secrets to live a beautiful life.
The film is about not losing hope, having faith, having the courage to face life and to embrace it. It is about the power of positivity and about knowing that nothing is permanent in this world. Everything will pass. We all lead such busy stressful lives that everything around us only adds up to the existing stress and we forget the fact that it is not greater than us. We make our jobs, our worries and our problems bigger than us in our lives. It is about knowing that in the end, only good will succeed and be rewarded.
"Like I have been saying everywhere, the subject of this film makes it so relatable to all of us. In my experience in the film industry and also otherwise, I have observed that, we are all in a rat race whether we like it or not. The race can be for success, wealth, fame, accomplishments and so on. But all of us are slaves of our desires. People do anything it takes to achieve their goals. Sometimes it is not the right thing or maybe a good thing to do. But we are so blinded by the result that we take certain steps. This film is about patience...the importance of doing the right thing even if things are moving slow. And the assurance that good people and goodness still exist in this world and that God still loves the world," says the leading lady Ester, when asked about the film.
"We thought it is necessary to make such films. And I am really proud and happy about it!" said producer Janet Noronha who has produced this film after the successful Karnataka State Award winning film Sophia- A dream girl.
The trailer looked promising creating ripples among the Konkani cinema audiences who were eager to watch the magic on the silver screen. And the movie has not disappointed at all. It has surpassed the expectations and won over people's hearts who leave with the desire of watching it again. The screenings for Toronto, Vancouver, UK, UAE and Mumbai have already been set and dates will be out soon.
The good news for Mangalureans is that, the film will hit the screens in Mangaluru and Udupi on August 9.
