Mangaluru, Jun 16: Ravi Uchil (40), a resident of Subhash Nagar in Pandeshwar here stands arrested by the police. He has been accused of raping a lady belonging to scheduled caste, who had been hired by him as housemaid.

Ravi reportedly works for a gas agency. The victim is said to be working in his house since the last seven years. It is said that Ravi used her to satiate his sexual desires and also inflicted mental and physical torture to her. Allegedly, he had given her sleeping pills and had sex with her in that condition. He also had recorded this on tape and had theatened her to stream this video tape in social websites if she stopped working for him. She had become pregnant and he got her pregnancy aborted through a doctor, as per information.

On the basis of complaint made by the family of the lady, a case was registered in the women's police station at Pandeshwar. The arrested accused has been remanded to judicial custody for two weeks.
