Bengaluru, Jun 15: “I cannot say that I will definitely remain in the party. I do not say that I am going away either. Time decides everything,” said Hirekerur MLA B C Patil indicating that he may leave the party.
Speaking to a TV channel, he said, “The situation is such that we should be content if the government survives instead of the party. The government will survive if the party exists. There will be no government without the party. Congress party has already lost 27 seats out of 28 and has reached last stage. The independents are given minister’s posts leaving aside those who worked for the party. Those who won opposing the party are given power. Those who worked for the party are not respected. The government will not survive if it continues. It is being done to make the party and government collapse,” he said.
“I do not want any minister’s post, corporation or council. I do not need to weep and ask. I cannot say I will definitely continue in the party. I do not say that I am leaving it also. Time will decide that. We, the dissatisfied MLAs, are getting together and discussing. We will take suitable decision in the days to come,” he said.
“Siddaramaiah had promised me a minister’s berth in the past but he did not give it. No Congress leaders informed me the reason at least over the phone. Probably they could not keep up the promise. Therefore, nobody has the moral courage,” said Patil in anguish.
“I am obviously dissatisfied. I had come up working hard and not through anybody’s support. I was a policeman and came here to serve farmers. I have even gone to jail several times. I have been elected MLA thrice. You are making minister to those who win once and neglecting those who won thrice. Is this fair,” he asked.
