Bengaluru, Jun 15: The meeting of H Vishwanath, who has resigned from the position of state president of JD(S) recently, with Chamarajanagar MP and BJP state vice-president V Srinivas Prasad has created curiosity among the political fraternity of the state.
It was heard before the expansion of the state cabinet that H Vishwanath will be offered the ministerial berth. But as only two independent MLAs were given positions and this subsequent meeting of Vishwanath with Srinivas Prasad are pointing towards the speculation that Vishwanath will probably join BJP.

It is learnt that former minister Yogeshwar was present during the meeting of Vishwanath with Srinivas Prasad. Speaking to reporters after the meeting Vishwanath said, "The friendship of me and Srinivas Prasad is a decade old one. We meet often. There is nothing special in this meeting. If I will join BJP, I will let everyone know. However, no such talks have taken place in this meeting. I am a JD(S) MLA."
"My resignation to the president post of state JD (S) is a closed chapter now. There is no question of me taking it back at any cost. I have immense respect for Deve Gowda and am confident that he will accept my resignation," added Vishwanath.
Meanwhile, Srinivas Prasad said, "Basically Vishwanath was in the Congress party. Siddaramaiah created problems for him. So he left Congress and joined JD(S). Siddaramaiah was responsible for my defeat also. It cannot be said right now that Vishwanath will join BJP. We have not discussed anything in that regard today. There are enough senior leaders in the BJP and we have to wait for their decision. I cannot guess and say whether the coalition government will survive or not. Yogeshwar is also trying to form BJP government. If the coalition government collapses due to its internal issues, BJP will not sit quiet. When the government itself is not stable what is the use of chief minister going for village stay?"
