Karkala, Jun 12: The police who found that cattle were being illegally transported at Kaduhole check post in Ajekar on Tuesday June 11, confiscated the vehicle along with 17 cattle found being transported in violent manner.
The arrested accused are Raja Bakshi (53) from Davanagere Azadnagar fifth cross, Jaffer Sadiq (26), resident of Davanagere Chikkanahalli new extension, and Ibrhaim (50), native of Bheemanagar in Ramanagar Bypass, Davanagere.
The goods tempo vehicle carrying the cattle was coming via Hebri and Muniyalu when the police signalled it to stop. The accused tried to abandon the vehicle and escape. They were arrested. On opening the door lock of the vehicle, the police found a buffalo and 16 she buffaloes inside the vehicle. The animals were stacked on each other by trying their legs tightly with ropes.
The police during their questioning, realized that these animals were stolen from somewhere and that they were on way to a slaughterhouse.
