Mangaluru, June 9: A passenger who travelled from Shivamogga to the city by a bus of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on the intervening night between May 25 and 26 has complained that gold ornaments and other valuables were stolen from his possession during this journey. He has put the total value of the items burgled from him at Rs 3.95 lac.
The person who has filed this complaint is Sandeep, a native of Davanagere and currently staying at Jeppu in the city. The stolen items were in a bag he was carrying.
Sandeep, working for ITC, had been transferred from Shivamogga to the city. As such, he had travelled from Shivamogga to here by boarding the bus at Shivamogga at 11.50 pm on May 25. On reaching the city the next morning, he kept his bags aside and took rest. He checked his bags on May 27 and found that gold ornaments, a laptop of Dell make and a Lenovo cellphone which were kept in his bag, totally worth Rs 3,95,000 have been stolen.
On the basis of complaint made by Sandeep, a case of theft stands registered in Barke police station.
