Beltangady, Apr 23: “Karnataka is progressing under BJP rule. This has to be the case in the country as well. For the progress of the country and its prosperity, vote for Mangalore Lok Saba (LS) BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel”, said BJP’s star campaigner Kannada actress Tara, soliciting votes from the electorate.
Tara was on a poll campaign on behalf of Kateel in the neighbourhood of Venoor, near here, on Wednesday April 23.
“The BJP-led state government has introduced several schemes for women’s empowerment. It’s the only government that can take care of citizens from the cradle to the grave. A BJP-led union government is important and BJP LS candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel is the most ideal and enterprising of candidates, a rare find”, she added.
MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the Congress has done nothing for the Billava community.
He alleged that the Congress candidates are seeking votes on the Billava card while the BJP- led state government has allotted 99 acres for setting up of the Koti-Chennaya Theme Park at a cost of Rs 2 crore for the people of the whole of Tulunadu.
Former minister Gangadhar Gowda said that he has been sacked by the Congress for rebelling although all the landlords who opposed the Land Tribunal Act introduced by the Congress-led union government have been accommodated.
He urged the voters to cast their most valuable votes in favour of Kateel.
Former MLA Prabhakar Bangera, BJP taluk president Kushalappa Gowda, taluk panchayat president Tulasi Harabe, members Keshav Bangera, Vijay Gowda, Mahabala Gowda, Anasuya D B, Mahila Morcha president Sharada R Rai, Venoor gram panchayat president Vidhya, Laxman Fandije, Dakayya Poojary, and Ratnavarma Jain were present on the occasion.
