Udupi, Apr 21: A religious programme was organized as part of the inaugural of Sri Narayana Guru Mandir, Parkala near here on Sunday April 19.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Renukananda Swamiji, chief of Arya Eadiga Mahasamstan, Magadi said that education and culture are necessary to experience the internal bliss. Temples and Bhajans are important to safeguard culture and refinement, he opined.
The Indian saints must express their true nature through sacrifices and helping nature. Sri Narayan Guru had enriched the lives of the sufferers through religious education and cultural movement, he said.
Presiding over the function, Dr V S Acharya, state home minister, said that Narayana Guru had worked for the welfare of the Billava community and led them towards the path to progress.
J P Narayana Swamy Murthy, Karnataka Arya Eediga Association president, Sri Satyanandateertha Swamiji, Varkala Shivagiri Mutt, Kerala, Upendra Nayak, zilla panchayat member, Katapady Shankar Poojary, taluk panchayat member and Jerry V Dias, Mandavi Builders were present at the programme.
