Mangaluru, May 21: SP, anti-corruption bureau Uma Prashanth inaugurated a yoga training camp for journalists at the Press Club in the city on Tuesday May 21.
The yoga training camp will be conducted by ISIRI Healthy India Mission and will be held every morning from 6.30 am to 7.30 am at the Press club.
Addressing the gathering, Uma Prashanth said, "This is a good step taken by journalists of the district to organize yoga training camp. Yoga meditation is a balance between mind and body that leads to quality of life. It is important to do yoga as we are in our busy schedule of stressful life. Performing yoga is not important but how we take it forward is very important.
“It is wrong to say that we do not have time. It means we do not have time for ourselves. If we do not get 10 to 15 minutes for ourselves, then we are not doing justice to our life,” said Uma Prashanth.
Director of ISIRI Healthy Mission India, Darshan Jain said, "It is always nice to take initiative in organizing such programmes for a social cause. By stepping into social service, I gained a lot of exposure which made me courageous to speak up. The drug awareness programme that was conducted last year, changed me completely and this is the reason to step into social service and contribute to society.”
President of district working journalists’ union Srinivas Nayak Indaje and former president of the union, Jagannath Shetty Bala were present.
