Udupi, May 14: “PM Modi by criticizing that late PM Rajiv Gandhi died as number one corrupt has brought ill repute to the position of the prime minister,” said Udupi district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor. Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha coalition candidate Pramod Madhwaraj said that he had to unexpectedly contest in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency. “I thank all the activists for their efforts. Congress party will definitely come to power at the center with other friendly parties,” he said.

Former MLA U R Sabhapathi said that the country is facing economic issues under Modi’s rule. Modi is indulging in personal vendetta to hide them. “We should unite the youth to prepare for the upcoming panchayat elections,” he said.

KPCC chief secretary M A Gafoor said that the election commission has remained indifferent even though the prime minister violated election code of contact several times. “He is making statements due to fear of losing,” he said.
