Bengaluru, May 12: In order to immediately respond to matters relating to drinking water problems in view of the fact that many districts in the state are facing acute drought, helpline call centres have been set up.
Call centres have been created in all the district headquarters and also taluks to handle problems connected with water shortage. Members of the public are free to register their complaints with these helplines.
Rural development and panchayat raj minster, Krishna Byregowda, has instructed the local officials to immediately respond to complaints received by them and address the issues without delay. The telephone numbers of the call centres have been provided in the website of the department of rural development and panchayat raj, rdpr.kar.nic.in.
Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who is undergoing rest and recuperation, spoke to revenue minster, R V Deshpande, agricultural minister, Shivashankar Reddy and rural development and panchayat raj minister, Krishna Byregowda on Saturday, collected information on drought relief measures and monitoring. He asked them to take all measures to make sure that there is no shortage of drinking water in the state. In this backdrop, the helplines were created, it is being claimed.
