Kochi, May 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday has decided to form a protection force to ensure safety of Christian community following terrorist attacks that took place in churches on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka.
Speaking at the state meet of BJP Minority Morcha in Kochi, BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai said “As per Christian belief, the Ascension Day marks the 40th day of Jesus Christ's resurrection, We are planning a special prayer meet on May 29 displaying photographs of the people who were killed in the serial blasts in Sri Lanka in accordance with this belief.”

With this new move, the political party aims to influence the minority groups of Christians. BJP plans to form the Christian Protection Force under BJP Minority Morcha. A fasting will also be observed on May 29.
The party expects the support of Christian groups in the new move. Activities of Christian Protection Force will be carried out as a move against global terrorism, said BJP party sources in Kerala.
