Mandya: Zafrulla Khan advises against supporting candidate supported by BJP

Mandya, Apr 14: JD(S) national general secretary, Zafrulla Khan, has called upon the voters not to support BJP-supported candidate in the election, as this party is against democratic system, it asks Muslims not to consume beef, and pledges to convert India into a Hindu nation.

He was speaking at a meeting of mosques committees of this district at Karnataka Bhavan here organized by the Muslim community on Saturday April 13. The meeting mainly considered the issue of who should be supported in the Lok Sabha election this time. Most of the Muslim leaders from the district had participated. The leaders unanimously took a decision to support Nikhil Kumaraswamy, who is the candidate of the Congress - JD(S) coalition.

Zafrulla called upon the people not to vote for the candidate supported by the BJP as that party is against democratic principles, it wants Muslims to desist from consuming beef, and aims at establishing Hindu state in India. Moulvis of all the mosques from the district, who were present, took a decision to reject Sumalatha Ambareesh, an independent candidate, in the election.

Speaking on the occasion, Zafrulla Khan hailed the family of Deve Gowda for being secular. He said that Deve Gowda, his sons and grandsons have been sticking to secular principles.

    According to EC, meeting of Mosque community and calling to vote or not vote against particular party is not an offence. Buy Vidyapeeth qeven where Chakravarthy Sulibele was invited is against election norms wah re Wah.

    If Muslims say don't vote BJP , it's fine but if Eshwarappa or Anantkumar says we dint need Muslim votes .... Then it's communal . Q
