Bengaluru: 'Mandya DC transferred for administrative lapse, not nomination goof-up'

Bengaluru, Apr 13: Karnataka state chief electoral officer, Sanjiv Kumar, clarified that deputy commissioner of Mandya district, N Manjushree, was transferred because of administrative lapses and not over controversy relating to filing of nomination papers.

He clarified that the nomination, which is once accepted by the electoral officer, remains valid and it can be questioned only in the court of law. Beyond this, certain administrative lapses do happen sometimes. When these are found, deputy commissioners are transferred. These two things cannot be interlinked with one another. When effecting transfer process, everything has to be belanced, he fet.
