Udupi, Apr 12: “Staff assigned duties of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha elections should be distributed postal ballot papers and EDC to make sure that they are not deprived of voting,” said additional deputy commissioner Vidya Kumari.
She was speaking in a meeting held in DC’s office auditorium on Thursday, April 11.
“Every vote in the elections is valuable. It will be a lapse if government officials on election duty are unable to exercise their franchise. Therefore, distribute election duty certificate to them. Submit a report about it in next two days,” she said.
“I will be verifying personally to make sure that they have received EDC and suitable action will be taken in cases of complaints. Follow rules in facilitation center for postal ballots and make sure that their misuse is prevented,” she said. Udupi postal ballot nodal officer Krishna Hepsuru and Udupi and Chikkamagaluru postal ballot officials were present.
