Udupi, Apr 7: “This election is a fight between the truth and false, development done and no development. Pramodh Madhwaraj in his tenure as a minister has done many good works in Udupi constituency. Shobha Karandlanje and Nalin Kumar Kateel are asking votes in Modi’s name and not their own,” said Vidhana Parishad member Ivan D’souza on Saturday, April 6.
Speaking to the reporters in Udupi district Congress Bhavan Ivan D’souza said, “BJP came to power making many promises to people. But they are not fulfilled. Siddaramaiah fulfilled all his manifesto promises during his tenure. The coalition government in the state is also doing great developmental works. The 17 BJP MPs have not done anything for their people. BJP leaders are not ready to have any discussion upon the developmental works.”
Ivan also demanded to release White Paper on developmental works carried on by the BJP MPs.
“BJP MPs are not being accountable to their voters. They are just following PM Modi’s words. This election is very important in regard to save our Constitution. BJP MP Ananth Kumar has openly commented that they need to change the Constitution. The constitution was prepared by wise men. While Rahul Gandhi filed nomination from Wayanad, Modi said that there are more number of minority voters in Wayanad so Rahul is contesting from there. A responsible person like PM was not expected to give this statement,” he added.
“Minorities are suffering under BJP government. The prime minister takes oath of office on grounds of equal treatment to all the citizens. But they are following divide and rule on the basis of religion and caste. In upcoming election we need to support Coalition candidate Pramodh Madhwaraj for being a responsible MP. Rahul Gandhi will also win and become PM,” said Ivan D’Souza.
Many BJP workers also joined Indian National Congress on this occasion.
Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, president Udupi District Congress M A Gafoor, KPCC secretary Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, Dinesh Puthran, Prashanth Jattanna, Farooq, Christan Almedia and others were present.
