Bengaluru, Apr 6: A man in an inebriated state who tried to barge into a ladies paying guest (PG) accommodation with his five accomplices and brutally assaulted the PG owner for stopping them, was arrested by Bengaluru police on Thursday.
Babu and his five associates tried to enter Green House Ladies PG in Mangammanapalya during the wee hours of April 2. The drunk men created a ruckus by banging the PG doors demanding to be let inside, so that they can party with the women.
The PG owner Jagan Reddy (26) asked the men to leave from the window. When Jagan refused to adhere to their demands, they started breaking the flower pots in the compound.
Jagan rushed outside to stop the man, leading to a verbal tiff. One of the men smashed a flower pot on Jagan’s head. Jagan’s brother Bhaskar Reddy who rushed to his rescue and their neighbor Anil were also assaulted by the gang.
The gang members fled when they saw Jagan bleeding profusely. Jagan is currently admitted in the hospital and his condition is critical. Meanwhile, Bhaskar and Anil, who sustained grievous injuries are recovering.
The Bandepalya Police arrested Babu and is on a lookout for his five accomplices. The six men have been booked under sections 307 (attempted murder), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with a deadly weapon) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the IPC.
