Mandya: IT sleuths raid hotel where CM stayed, Cong-JD(S) leaders under scanner

Mandya, Apr 5: The Income Tax (IT) officials on Thursday raided a hotel at Krishnaraja Sagar in Srirangapatna taluk, where chief minister (CM) H D Kumaraswamy and his son Nikhil often check-in.

According to reports, Nikhil Kumaraswamy had stayed in the hotel on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, the same hotel was raided by more than 20 IT sleuths.

The officials have seized CCTV footage of the CM and his son during their stay at the hotel. The officials also inspected the rooms where they had stayed.

On Wednesday, the IT department had raided a JD(S) worker from Hoskote. However the officials seized only the documents and no cash was recovered during the raid. K R Pet Congress leader K B Chandrashekar’s nephew and former town municipal council member K T Chakrapani at Kuppalli village too were raided on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, the officials seized Rs 6 crore from a contractor in Bengaluru on Thursday.

IT officials have been staying in Mandya district for over a month and are monitoring the movement of Congress and JD(S) leaders, according to sources.
