Bengaluru, Apr 4: On Wednesday April 2, the state high court dismissed a public interest litigation filed against the release of the movie, 'PM Narendra Modi', which is said to be based on life journey of the Prime Minister. The movie is set to be released on April 12.
L Ramesh Nayak, an advocate from Tumakuru, had filed the said public interest litigation, seeking to stay the release of the film. The petition came up for consideration before a bench presided over by acting chief justice, L Narayanaswamy, and Justice P S Dinesh Kumar.
The bench, after hearing preliminary arguments put forth by the petitioners, felt that only the Election Commission can take steps in the matter. It decided the petition after commenting that the high court is not inclined to interfere in the matter.
