Udupi: DC Hephsiba Rani visits houses, distributes voters’ slips

Udupi, Apr 3: In a special initiative, deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati visited houses at Udupi Mission Compound and near Ammanni Ramanna Hall and handed over voters’ slips.

Meeting families, she informed the date of elections and asked them to vote without fail. She said that all the necessary arrangements have been made and those who do not have Elector's Photo identity Card (EPIC) card, can take any one of the documents mentioned by the Election Commission with them to exercise their franchise.

She spoke about VVPAT and also asked not reveal anybody the party or candidate they are voting for. Further, she also requested to inform if anybody tries to lure or influence voters by gifts.

The DC handed over voters’ slip to a 97-year-old lady near Ramanna Hall inside her house and asked the BLO accompanying her to mark her name and provide vehicle and make other arrangements in order to facilitate her to the polling booth.

She asked the BLOs to complete distribution of slips to all the voters soon and make sure that no voter is deprived of them.

Additional deputy commissioner Vidya Kumari, Udupi assistant election officer Kempegowda, Udupi tahsildar Pradeep Kurdekar, district spokesperson Khader Shah and others were present.
