Mangaluru, Apr 2: The graduation day ceremony of Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital will be held on April 5 at Father Muller Convention Centre, informed director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions Fr Richard Coelho.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, April 2, Fr Coelho informed that vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences Dr S Sacchidanand will be the chief guest and bishop of Mangaluru diocese and president of Father Muller Charitable Institutions Dr Peter Paul Saldanha will preside over the function.
"On this day, 73 undergraduate and 27 postgraduate students will be graduating. The achievements of outstanding students who have secured ranks in the RGUHS University examinations declared in 2018-19 will also be awarded. Altogether, subject wise, 176 ranks have been secured by Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College students. The meritorious students include 6 BHMS rank holders in overall ranks of the university, 6 M.D (Hom) rank holders of different specialties. Our students have bagged 6 gold medals in the RGUHS examinations,” said Richard Coelho.
"For the first time, president of the institution has announced president gold medal award containing 8 grams of gold for meritorious students of Homeopathic college,” he added.
Father Muller medical college and hospital, a religious minority institution is the centre of excellence in the field of Homeopathy from the last three decades. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences (RGUHS) and is recognised by Central Council of Homeopathy and Department of Ministry of Ayush.
"Since 1880, the institution provides services to the community with the motto 'heal and comfort'. The college conducts undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and is the only institution in Karnataka to offer PG in all specialties,” said Fr Coelho.
“The college is also involved in various research activities where the staff, postgraduates and undergraduates strive to promote homeopathy worldwide. National assessment and accreditation council (NAAC) has accredited the college with A grade making it the first homeopathic medical college under RGUHS to receive the accreditation,” Fr Coelho added.
Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College administrator Fr Vincent Saldanha, assistant administrator Fr Sylvester Lobo, principal Dr Shivaprasad K and others were present.
