Bengaluru, Mar 29: By holding a protest along with former chief minister, Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, and deputy chief minister, G Parameshwara and others in front of the office of the income tax department here on Thursday March 28 afternoon, Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, earned the dubious distinction of being the first ever chief minister to hold such a protest in the history of Karnataka.
The leaders have accused Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and BJP national president, Amit Shah, for the income tax raids on ministers of the coalition government, relatives of leaders and those close to them. BJP leaders have been saying that even supporters of BJP leaders had been raided in the past and that if the leaders have nothing to hide, there is no need to worry.
Ministers, D K Shivakumar, D C Thammanna and Sa Ra Mahesh too took part in the protest and gave thorough tongue-lashing to BJP leaders relating to the raids. The issue got lot of attention in social media too.
