Bengaluru: Christians thank chief election officer for shifting polling booths

Bengaluru, Mar 28: President of Karnataka Christians Social Welfare Association, Harry D'Souza, has thanked state chief election officer for positively responding to an appeal made to shift polling booths from Christian organisations to enable them to observe Good Friday, an important religious event.

Harry noted that Karnataka has a Christian population of over 35 lac. He also said that in the Lok Sabha election, the Christian community will not blindly cast its votes in favour of Congress party.

    Good move. EC has done it in Goa where there is a big Christian community as w ell; but am glad that polling dates are unchanged and EC did not bow to pressure.
