Mysuru, Mar 27: For stopping the car of Tourism minister Sa Ra Mahesh, a head constable was suspended from his job on charges of dereliction of duty.
Mahesh was heading to the Deputy Commissioner Office premises to attend the nomination filing programme of Congress-JD(S) coalition candidate C H Vijayashankar.
According to sources, Kuvempunagar Head Police Constable Venkatesh stopped the minister’s car near D Devaraj Urs circle, not allowing him to enter the DC’s office.

The constable was suspended on orders of Police commissioner K T Balakrishna on recommendation of Gajendra Prasad, assistant commissioner of Police.
Sources say that the cop was only doing his duty and stopped the car as section 144 was in force. However, the vehicle had permission to enter the DC’s office. The minister called up the concerned officials after the incident.
