Head constable suspended for stopping minister's vehicle in Mysuru

Mysuru, Mar 27: For stopping the car of Tourism minister Sa Ra Mahesh, a head constable was suspended from his job on charges of dereliction of duty.

Mahesh was heading to the Deputy Commissioner Office premises to attend the nomination filing programme of Congress-JD(S) coalition candidate C H Vijayashankar.

According to sources, Kuvempunagar Head Police Constable Venkatesh stopped the minister’s car near D Devaraj Urs circle, not allowing him to enter the DC’s office.

The constable was suspended on orders of Police commissioner K T Balakrishna on recommendation of Gajendra Prasad, assistant commissioner of Police.

Sources say that the cop was only doing his duty and stopped the car as section 144 was in force. However, the vehicle had permission to enter the DC’s office. The minister called up the concerned officials after the incident.

    These politicians behave as they are kings of state,above the law.
    Same type of misuse of power leads raise of NAXALISM.

    Suspension is wrong. The Constable was doing his duty. The minister is not above the law. He should have cooperated with the cop and appreciated his diligence. Think about voting for such a arrogant candidate. Cops, do your duty diligently, come what may.

    Arrogance at it's best. Police constable was discharging his duty & look at our systems, he is suspended rather than being appreciated for doing his duty.
    Ministers should agree that they are elected " By the people, for the people and to the people " and not to show arrogance and high handedness with police officials who are doing duty.
    List of vehicles with registration numbers which had a pass to enter DC Office should have been given to police on duty, so they are aware of car numbers.!!
    Law makers are supposed to be holding laws & not breaking laws and also not supposed to be de-moralizing law protectors.
    This VIP Culture has to go off our Indian Systems, then our Arrogant Politicians will learn to live like us.

    This minister has a history of such arrogance.

    During Siddaganga Mutt's Dr Shivakumar Swamiji's funeral also he arrogantly scolded lady police officer for not allowing him to a restricted area.

    Now he has shown his power to a poor constable. He has to have some patience. If he had a special permission he could have shown it and then the cop would have allowed.

    These ministers think they are kings and not servants of people. They have been elected, paid for everything from taxpayer's money to do service to the people and not behave like kings.

    Constable is right as there was section 144 in that area and he has rightfully stopped Minister Car. But, the Minister had special permission for his car, it should have been informed by the Minister's PA to the police constable. Suspending is not at all right. Are our politicians super human being.
