Bengaluru, Mar 26 : 28-year-old Tejasvi Surya, who is currently a lawyer practising at the High Court of Karnataka, and is also the vice-president of the Karnataka BJP Youth Wing has become the youngest BJP candidate to get the ticket to contest upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He will take on B K Hariprasad of Congress, who is a Rajya Sabha member and senior leader in the party.
In 2014, when he was just 23 years old, Surya was in great demand for campaigning in different parts of the State for the Lok Sabha elections as Bharatiya Janata Party candidates from several constituencies had requested him to visit their areas.
Thanks to his oratory skills and clarity on issues pertaining to the youth, he had travelled about 22,000 km in about six months and addressed nearly 70 rallies in different parts of the State during campaigning BJP in 2014.
He has become familiar in rightwing circles through social media, and the party has made him address rallies in Pune, Chennai and Mumbai.
BJP has released another list on early hours of Tuesday, March 26 announcing five Lok Sabha constituencies, including two in Karnataka. Ashwath Narayan has been given ticket from BJP to contest Bangalore Rural.
With this, BJP has now announced candidates for all 27 constituencies, leaving Mandya seat in support of Sumalatha Ambareesh.
