Mangaluru, Mar 24: Youth Congress leader Mithun Rai, who will contest from Congress for Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming polls, will file his nomination on March 25.

Mithun Rai will address a Congress members’ meeting at Town Hall in the city at 10 am before proceeding with a paadayathre to DC’s office where he will file his nomination.

Mithun is the son of well-known surgeon Dr Mahabala Rai and entered politics at a very young age during his student days. He was an aspirant for Congress ticket during the assembly election from Moodbidri constituency last year.

Last week, host of leaders like Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Kanachur Monu, B K Hariprasad, Ivan D’Souza, and U T Khader were summoned to New Delhi by the Congress high command earlier. Most of them were ticket aspirants.

Mithun Rai visited the holy places belonging to all religions on Sunday, March 24 and sought divine help. He visited Someshwar Temple, Ullal Darga, Kuttar Koragajja Moolasthana and St Sebastian Church.

As the heat of the Lok Sabha elections is rising, preparations for the same are in full swing by all the political parties. Only time will tell whether young Congress leader Mithun Rai, will be able to break the safe bastion of BJP after 28 long years.
