Mangalore, Feb 25:
The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on Wednesday February 25 witnessed a war of words between the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress on the case filed against union minister Renuka Choudhury.

The members of the Congress party led by Harinath vented their ire on MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik after he praised former mayor Ganesh Hosabettu for filing a case against Choudhury. They argued that filing a case is not a praiseworthy achievement for a mayor.

The verbal duel continued for a while and seemed about to go out of control. However, members from each party were able to pacify their respective colleagues and the tension subsided.

The congress councilors alleged that Capt Karnik had unnecessarily mentioned the issue in the poll meeting.

MLA N Yogish Bhat, and district-in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar were also present at the meeting.

Instead of fighting over who is right or wrong, why doesn't the MLA who represent the teachers constituency, advocate the proper implementation of the law. All laws are flouted blatantly by the liquor lobby, who sell loose liquor in wine shops, hotels and restaurants without proper permit while the law enforcement agencies look the other way. One way roads and no parking zones are made mockery people with connections with these high and mighty people.

Mr. Karnik, what sort of a captain are you? Naval Captain, Army Captain, Air Force Captain or????? Where are your priorities. As a captain you should be defending the defenceless girls who were attacked and molested. Instead you are praising the stupid man who is defending the goons and thugs who perpetrated the cowardly act or was it like it is alleged, a hafta collecting racket where innocent bystanders got victimised?

If the Mayor was an honest person, he would have filed a case against all elements that have tarnished the image of Mangalore with their politically backed criminal acts. MS. RENUKA CHOUDHURY HAS INFACT SAID THE RIGHT THING. Let no ONE dictate terms to anyone in the pretext of false patriotism. Every citizen of India is aware of their fundamental DUTIES AND RIGHTS.
