New Delhi, Feb 24: A young woman was shot dead allegedly by her former employer in the national capital while she was travelling in his car along with her husband and adopted son, police said on Monday.
Pinki (25), who left her job in a beauty parlour in Patel Nagar, was found dead with bullet injuries on KDR Road near Jehangirpuri at around 11 p.m. on Sunday under mysterious circumstances.
The victim and her husband Suranjit Singh were picked up from their home by Sanjeev Kumar, the owner of the beauty parlour, last evening who allegedly pumped three bullets into her, a senior police official said.
One bullet hit her head, he said. Pinki was shot at inside the car, the official said, adding her body was dumped near the Metro station by Kumar. He also made her husband and the boy get out of his car.
She was rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Pinki had left her job two weeks ago after a tiff with her employer and police suspect it to be the trigger for her murder. "We are investigating this angle," he said.
However, police is surprised at the fact how the assailant managed to escape from the scene as it was a busy area. This was the second such incident in a span of ten hours.
Ankit Minocha, a 22-year-old businessman was shot dead while one of his friends injured yesterday when unidentified men opened fire at them near Buddha Jayanti Park on Shanker Road in Chanakyapuri police station area at 1:30 p.m.
Unidentified assailants opened fire at Minocha and his friends while returning home after meeting two Karol Bagh car dealers -- Pushkar and Sushil Arora -- who were not returning Rs ten lakh they borrowed. Mahender, one of his friends, had lend them the money.
Police suspect hitmen hired by the car dealers to be behind the shooting incident.
