Bengaluru, Mar 19: The first instalment of Karnataka’s Congress final list for the lok sabha polls is expected to be announced by the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) headed by AICC President Rahul Gandhi is expected to be announced on March 22.
There are 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka and under the seat sharing agreement with coalition partner JD(S), the Congress party will get 20 while the latter will get 8 seats.
The CEC would be meeting on Friday (March 22) and is likely to announce the first list of candidates, sources in the Congress said.
The State Congress screening committee has submitted a list of candidates for 20 Lok Sabha constituencies last week.
Constituencies that would go to the polls on April 18 are Bengaluru South, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru Rural, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Chickballapur, and Kolar.
The last day for filing nominations in these constituencies is March 26.
