Indore, Feb 19: After seven years and four finals, it was fifth time lucky for Aravind Bhat when he clinched his maiden men's singles title at Abhay Prashal Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The final of the 73rd Senior National Badminton Championship was a high-voltage affair, with both Bhat and P Kashyap fighting hard for each point.
The women's final was a nail-biting affair too with Sayali Gokhale needing an extra effort to stop the dream run of PC Tulasi in three-game thriller.
Fourth seed Gokhale won the first game at 21-17 after trailing initially. Seventeen-year-old Tulasi bounced back but Sayali used all her experience to good effect.
