Dear shiva, if hinduism says that there is not one but many ways to attain salvation, then why do you oppose someone who preaches one more way? Why call it conversion then? You also say Hinduism is a way of life not a religion. All indians follow the same way of life but different ways to salvation(Amma's path could be one). So why this hue and cry about so called conversion? why this Violence? Don't we have the right to decide what is best for ourselves?

As you might be aware, most westerners are literate and can read and write. They are not as bad as tribals of Orissa. So I have reasons to believe that they take conscious  decisions.

Mata Amrutanandamayi's plain message is about the power of love and compassion. The message of love and compassion from any religious leader has to be heard and must be put into action, because that is the only way out of this stressful and materialistic life of misery. " If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well" James 2:8. (Bible)

It is wrong to call Amma Mata Amrutanandamayi a Hindu spiritual leader. It appears from the comments, that none have read the books written by her. I have read some of her books written in Kannada, and they are not meant specially for Hindu`s but for every one, irrespective of any religion. Some of her verses are highly thought provocative and intelligent. Though I did not know who this person was while I was reading her books, I was very glad, daijiworld gave a good coverage to her, which she highly deserves.

Anybody can meditate ..and realise the spirit within ..Hinduism doesnt beleive in conversion because it does not say that there is only one path to salvation like other new-religions. Comparing Hinduism to other new religions on conversion is absurd.

There are many Eurpoeans among followers. It needs to be investigated whether they were converted through allurements and fraudulent means. Hope the Sangh parivar can give some guidelines :-)

This Mathaji is a real leader who shall be followed as a Hindu spiritual leader. She really spreads the message of love and the Charity shall be learnt from her. She has donated more than a million dollar to USA, during Hurricane. She has got many europeans as her followers, We christians do not band her as involved in Conversions!!! Whatever it is people convert by their own choice and not by force as Muthalik Sene Claims!!!! What is the use if somebody gets converted due to force and do not follow!!! I dont think anyone will do that!!!!
