Jind (Haryana), Feb 14: A police sub-inspector has been placed under suspension for allegedly manhandling a couple found together in a room at a colony near Rohtak and a departmental enquiry ordered into the incident.
Police on Saturday said Moola Ram, incharge of Rohtak Road police post, was suspended on Friday after his higher-ups reported the incident to district authorities.
Ram allegedly publicly manhandled and insulted the couple, both college students, after they were found in a room. They were, later, taken to police station and let off.
Residents lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, Jind.
SHO of Jind police station reported the incident to higher ups after which he was placed under suspension.
A departmental inquiry has been ordered, which will be conducted by Rajiv Deswal, Superintendent of Police, Jind.
