Mangaluru, Mar 8: An Assam-based youth stands arrested by the police on the charge of sexually harassing two boys near Kudroli in the city.

The arrested accused happens to be Akalasuddin Burbuhayya (35), who is of Assam origin. He works in construction projects in the city and stays in a rented home near Kudroli. He was in the habit of inviting two boys, aged seven and 17 respectively, who live near his house, to his house in the guise of offering chocolates and using them to satiate his sexual urge.

On Wednesday, he had invited a boy and closed the door of his house. The boy's mother immediately alerted the neighbours. All of them came together and asked the youth to open the door. In spite of calling him and knocking at the door repeatedly, the youth did not open the door. The locals then broke open the door and entered the house. By then the youth somehow escaped from there.

The police who were informed about the incident, came there and searched for the accused. They succeeded in finding him out and arresting him on Wednesday night. Bunder station police inspector, Govindaraju and staff of his station took part in the operation.
