Mangaluru: DC asks officials to be in readiness to hold election impartially

Mangaluru, Mar 5: Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, S Sasikanth Senthil, who also happens to be the district election officer, advised nodal officers to be in readiness to hold fair and impartial election.

He was addressing a meeting of electoral nodal officers held on Monday March 4 at the zilla panchayat auditorium here. "All the officers should understand the seriousness of election duties entrusted to them. Everyone need to meticulously obey every instruction of the election commission and discharge duties responsibly. Care should be taken to ensure that there is no scope for making allegations of partiality anywhere," he explained.

Senthil asked police officers on duty to coordinate with nodal officers and make sure that there are no lapses in the discharge of election duties. He said that it is the responsibility of every officer to discharge duties with responsibility and in coordination with others.

Mangaluru City Corporation nodal officer, SVEEP committee head and election expenses monitoring officer, and zilla panchayat chief executive officer, Dr Selvamani R, addressed the participants. District superintendent of police, Laxmi Prasad, and other officers took part in the meeting.

At the meeting held at the office of the city police commissioner, Sandeep Patil, on Monday evening, discussions were held on mapping of vulnerable booths, reports to be submitted to election commission etc, with nodal officers. Deputy commissioner of police, Hanumantharaya, was present.
