Mumbai, Mar 4: Tulu Kannadigara Abhimani Balaga held a programme to felicitate Mumbai north Lok Sabha constituency MP Gopal Shetty who was honoured by Prime Minister Modi as the best MP. The programme was held at Pushpanjali garden, Borivli west on Saturday evening March 2.
Maharashtra government minister of cooperative and textiles Chandrakanth Patil congratulated the MP.
Gopal Shetty and Usha Gopal Shetty couple lit the lamp and set the programme in motion. Dahisar Vidhan Sabha constituency BJP MLA Manisha Choudhuri, national Billava Maha Mandala president Jaya C Suvarna and Bantara Sangha Mumbai vice president Chandrahas K Shetty commended the services of MP Gopal Shetty.

Gopal Shetty responding to the felicitation said that he wants to get works done quickly. “I have come to politics not to decorate positions but to provide basic facilities to people. I had gone to BJP office to put forward certain demands as I was deprived of certain needs. The leaders, who watched my way of speech and movements, pulled me toward politics. I grew as a civic worker, MLA and MP. People ask me to be minister now, but I do not have the desire for it.”
Chief organizer Ermal Harish Shetty welcomed the gathering. Ashok Pakkala, Amrith Shetty and Raghunath N Shetty introduced the guests and compered the programme. Karunaker Shetty Poiser proposed the vote of thanks. Sangam Star Mumbai presented patriotic songs in the direction of Sangam Upadhyaya.
