Mangalore, Feb 6: Suspected Sri Ram Sena activists have reportedly attacked the Kerala CPM MLA's daughter and her friend while the two were returning from Manjeshwar in Kerala to Mangalore by bus at about 6 pm on Friday evening.

Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik, and the man blamed for the attacks on women in a Mangalore pub has denied it.

Few persons who had boarded the vehicle under the guise of passengers, forced them to alight and took them in an autorickshaw to an unidentified place, Western Range IGP A M Prasad told.

The miscreants however released them later.

Prasad refused to disclose the name of the girl, but said she is the daughter of C H Kunhambu, Manjeshwar constituency MLA.

Kunhambu told that his daughter and her friend were assaulted by Bajrang Dal, Ram Sena goons.

The MLA said that the bus conductor belonged to BJP. "He called Bajrang Dal, Ram Sena goons."

"They dragged my daughter, her friend out of bus. They forced my daughter and him into an auto-rickshaw, and took them away."

"They let my daughter go after holding her captive for 1 hour. The Muslim boy was released much later," he said.

"Ram Sena, Bajrang Dal activists snatched away my daughter's mobile phone," he added.

The MLA said that he had informed the Karnataka Home Minister about the incident.

Police declined to divulge the name of the boy. The motive behind the miscreants act was yet to be probed, Prasad added.

Fundamental rights are guaranteed to each citizen by the constitution. It is entirely upto me to visit a pub with my girlfriends or female relatives who are adults. Secondly i can also celebrate valentines day with my girl friends. Anyone who denies me my fundamental rights is committing treason by going against the constitution of India. It is the duty of the government and authorities in Karnataka to provide protection to every individual. By failing to do so the government of Karnataka is also failing in its duty. The government and its officers have sworn by the constitution to uphold it. Therefore Mutalik and his goondas should be tried for treason immediately. A person who does not respect the constitution has no place in our society and should be removed by force if necessary.

Dear RAvi Kadri, I appreciate your feelings towards the happenings in Mangalore. We christians are not and never be against the Hindu Brothers or Hinduism. What we feel sad is the governance of BJP and the system in which some of the So called Hindu organisations which take law into their own hands or they might feel to run parellel judiciary. But they do not know this will further devide thier own community and religion. God save India.

It was very much confusing statement made by Pramod Mutalik in Suvrarna News last night he denied the role of Rama Sene in this kidnap and said that some elements are trying to tarnish the image of BJP Government. Two weeks back he made allegations against the state BJP government. His stand has been drastically changed in 2 weeks any confidential agreement between the BJP government and Pramod Mutalik, no wonder everything is possible in politics. M. Bhat, Mumbai, no one is against Hindus, peace, harmony & understanding is important in this world. But when someone attacks the individual freedom in the name of religion & culture everyone has to condemn it. Pub culture is individual choice I cannot oblige you to follow my principles and ethics. However, using the name of Sri Rama for violence has to be condemned by anyone regardless of his/ her faith.

Atleast it is done to a MLA's daughter that to a well grown up state called "Kerala". I pray that this govt should immediately take action on Goonda govt of Karnataka and then all MLA's and Ministers in Karnataka will try to take a step in protecting their own wives and daughters and atleast in this way other women in Mangalore and arond Karnataka will be given security. I strongly condemn this brutal act by Bajrang Dal and Ram Sena. During British rule we were called as "Bloody Indians". This brutal act by Bajrang dal and Ram Sena forces me to say, "I am a bloody Mangalorean".

I agree that due to huge popularity of the website news spread like wildfire abroad like it did in church and recent pub attack, but I suppose surpassing the information is not the media ethics. Can you please ask same question to Udayavani and Vijaya Karnataka by requesting them not to publish anti minority news items when such attacks happen? Thanks for your attention Mr Kadri

Illegal policing is totally not acceptable in any democratic society. No doubt those Goonda's responsible must be punished. Meantime may I request my Christian/Muslim brothers and sisters not use this incident to spoil the image of Hindu religion.  Which will only help to spoil the peace and harmony in our beloved mother India? We Hindus may be more tolerant but we are proud of our faith and feel deeply heart while some goondas acts are used for gauging our religion.

May I also request Daiji to discourage any article which create split among the different religions. What we need is all media should spread the message of peace and harmony, love of our beloved country.

I am sure this MLA has won a CPI seat just because Mr Cherkalam Abdulla from congress seat had several police cases including one that took place at uppala slapping a government doctor. This infact turned few congress supporters to seal it for CPIM and ofcourse PDP has to go against cherkkalam for his soft approach, now no wonder MLA wants name and fame for the next election? but honestly this MLA is a nice man with no greediness for money. wish him good luck for the next elecetion. Mean time in karnataka people, NRIs trying level best to bring down the yediyurappa govt but its sad to know you still want Kumaraswamy again on top and increasing his savings further!!! If Karnataka government acts like a dumb and deaf why can't central government/supreme court take an action against state government? We need president rule in Karnataka and all goonda groups must be punished for their extreme atrocities. If Yeddi is compromising with Ram Sene and Baj Dal then let all people allow to take a law in their own hand. Each person in our state needs Gun and weapons for the self protection. However, this may not be the smart thinking too but we have no other way in this Karnataka mud. Either live or Die. It's really pathetic and real pain to have a rubber stamp CM with no action and justice.

Ladies/ girls in Karnataka you have to protect yourself from the goons and the protectors of Hindutva & Indian tradition. There is limitation for everything but the acts of these goons in the name of religion & tradition is threatening the freedom of the females in Karnataka. Our government is impotent to take any action against these goons, so ladies /girls you need to prepare yourself to counter attack the goons. There should be public uproar so government will be obliged to take action. Mangalore is talibanized by Rama Sene and all the human & civil rights has been thrown to air.

Once again.. and again... such things are expected... Not much surprised to me, because what else we could expect from this State Government and its Ministry? Every Body Please note that In April- May 09, Lokhsabah Elections are announced, These are the preparations for this elections. They want to have as same as policy of Mr. Modi of Gujrath, ( Maro... Jalavo.. Dharavo aur Raj Karo..)what these people wants to do is .. only Terror... Terror and Terror.. when they succeed this, it would be very easy for them to get in to Election and the Flavor of these bloody dishes give them fame result in the elections. They had swapped the State Elections now aiming the Central one. Its all in the agenda of Sanghparivar... The peoples of DK & Udupi Districts makes them free handed and supported them by voting, specially our Christian Community had supported BJP in last election which is the big mistake what they did in the history of India. Now also time is not too late, just awake and aware of these... and unite... That's it what we could do... Jai Hind...

Dear Mr. Nagesh do not speak of conversions since the creation of humans on this planet earth conversions were and are going on. Hindus have done conversions, Christians have done conversions, Muslims have done conversions, Buddhists have done conversions and history is evident to that effect now which conversions are you talking about???
