Hassan, Feb 15: In connection with the incident in which protest was held in front of BJP local MLA, Preetham J Gowda, pelting stones at BJP workers and damaging a car, eight persons have been arrested so far. This information was given by district superintendent of police, A N Prakash Gowda.
JD(S) former municipal president of Hassan, Anil Kumar, councillors, H C Gireesh, Prashanth Nagaraj, zilla panchayat member, H P Swaroop, former councillors, A K Kamal Kumar, Bhanuprakash, Chandru Katihalli and Jagadish have been arrested.

The SP also informed that security at the MLA's residence and BJP office has been reinforced.
