Kundapur, Feb 14: Police on Thursday, February 14, arrested the main accused Chandrashekar Reddy, of the recent double murder committed near Chikkanakere, Manuru near Kota. According to reliable sources, Reddy surrendered himself to the police.
Chandrashekar Reddy was absconding from the past nineteen days after the murder and appeared at the office of Kundapur advocate Ravikiran Murdeshwar. But people in the office could not identify him as they had never seen him earlier nor seen his picture. The advocate initially tried to contact the superintendent of police. As that was not possible, he called up investigating officer Jayashankar and explained the matter. The police did not turn up till the evening.

The accused, who realised that the working hours of the court will be over, went out saying that he will surrender at Kota police station. As the police who came to the office of the lawyer later found Chandrashekar missing, imposed a nakabandi and arrested him. With his arrest, the number of arrests in the case has gone up to 14.
The point that the name of Harish Reddy who is another accused in the case is not mentioned by the complainant has come to light. “The investigation will stand on how soon the police will file charge sheet,” opine people.
