Bengaluru, Feb 13: After the coalition government came to power in the state of Karnataka on May 17, 2018, BJP has tried countless times to bring it down by conducting 'Operation Lotus' repeatedly. On one end, the BJP has suffered setback in every attempt and on the other hand, the reputation of the party is also gone for a toss.
Now state BJP leaders are suspecting that the information regarding the plan of BJP to topple the government like the probable MLAs of Congress and JD (S) whom the BJP is trying to entice and the amount that is being offered to them is reaching CM Kumaraswamy in lightning speed. This must be the cause of repeated failures of the state BJP leader Yeddyurappa in bringing down the coalition government of Congress and JD(S).
Time and again, Kumaraswamy has given the statement to the press that he has friends in BJP also. In politics, it is not unusual, that leaders of a certain party having good friendship with the leaders and MLAs of the opposition party. However, now the question that eats the minds of the state BJP leaders is 'What is the definition of the term 'Friendship' mentioned by chief minister Kumaraswamy in his statements?'
Rumours are rife in state BJP inner circles that the confidential internal information of the party is being systematically leaked by certain people of the party itself. That is why in total four attempts of 'Operation Lotus' have failed miserably. It might be recalled the outrage expressed by BJP party activists during the Jayanagar assembly by-elections about the 'Bengaluru adjustment politics' of certain senior leaders of state BJP.
So the question arises is 'why Yeddyurappa is not aware of the moles in the party?'. How it is possible for Kumaraswamy to contact the MLAs of Congress and JD (S), who are being targeted by BJP, in a lightning speed? Without the internal support of BJP, it is not possible to get such confidential information so fast.
It is a known fact that Kumaraswamy, D K Shivakumar and other prominent leaders of the coalition government are getting the exact information on the amount of offer, the name of the hotel where the MLAs to be enticed are holed etc within hours of the hatching of the plan by the BJP and they are successfully thwarting such attempts.
Yeddyurappa was made the lamb of sacrifice easily in all the attempts of 'Operation Lotus' and the other issues like the audio tape incident also. He became a laughing stock in front of the public of the state with regards to the incident of discussion with Sharan Gowda, who arrived to the tourist bunglow of Devadurga as Yeddyurappa did not make any preparation to face the situation. The people of the state are making fun of Yeddyurappa's greediness to occupy the chair of CM of the state.
In addition, Yeddyurappa tried to save his face by saying that he has met Sharan Gowda and released only edited part of the audio. Because of his foolishness the party and his self-image was tarnished badly in this incident. Though Modi sat next to Yeddyurappa in the public meeting at Hubballi, he did not speak at all to B S Yeddyurappa.
To quote another example of information leak from the BJP party, in the audio tape scam when BJP said in the assembly that they will release the audio tape, Kumaraswamy said that they will release some old issue of Rs 40 crores. Accordingly, Renukacharya had handed over the audio CD mentioned by Kumaraswamy to speaker Ramesh Kumar.
The fourth and the last attempt of 'Operation Lotus' was kept a top secret as Yeddyurappa is also smart to know that there are some moles in his own party. However, he has failed again! How it is possible for the ruling party to know exactly about the movements of the opposition party?
It is a well-known fact that the very leaders of state BJP are trying to shunt Yeddyurappa out from the reigns of the party in the state, though they exhibit fake allegiance to him from the front. Considering this fact, it will not be possible for Yeddyurappa to bring down the coalition government in coming days also.
