Bangalore, Jan 27: Siddaramaiah, who travelled to Suttur in Byadagi taluk in Haveri district on Sunday January 25 in connection the formation of Kaginele Development Authority in the company of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in a helicopter, reiterated that he does not nurse any desire to float a new political outfit at least for the present. "This idea belongs to my supporters," he said.
When asked as to whether he was disgruntled for not being given any important post by the Congress leadership, Siddu said that he never demanded any post but that his supporters were unhappy. "When Deshpande asked me to participate in election campaigning for the by election, I had informed him that I could not take part in electioneering," he said. To a question about his stance during the Loksabha election, he said everything will depend upon the way the party will utilize his services. "I have not been given any responsibility in the party as of now. I will do what the party wants to at that time," he explained.
He expressed his unhappiness about the Belgaum session, saying that the north Karnataka people had to be content again, with a slew of assurances. He expressd the opinion, that the session should have been held for at least three weeks to hold meaningful discussions on the problems being faced by the north Karnataka region.
Siddaramaiah praised the chief minister for releasing money for the setting up of Kaginele Authority. “Kanakadasa’s preachings are even relevant today. Proposal to set up of an authority at his place had been in the pipeline for long. Yeddyurappa has done a commendable job by sanctioning the Authority,” he said. His praise of the chief minister and also the fact that he chose to travel in the same helicopter used by Yeddyurappa caused many eyebrows to rise.
