Beltangady, Feb 5: A woman from Shivamogga district, who was staying in a rented house at Odala, Belalu Road, Ujire in the taluk with her husband and children, was found hanging from a noose at her home on Monday along with her two children, who are twins. In this incident, the mother lost her life, along and the one child.
The woman who died in the incident was Baby (23) and Apsara died after she failed to respond to treatment at the hospital. She was from Hosagar, Shivamogga district. Her twin children, Akshara and Apsara, who are 32-month-old, were admitted to the government hospital at Mangaluru. So far, no specific reason could be assigned for the woman to take this extreme step.
Baby's husband, Praveen, works in a salon at Ujire. When he came home on Monday evening, he found his wife and children hanging from a rope. He immediately brought them down. But Baby was no more. With help of the locals, the children were admitted into hospital.
Praveen was having a salon at Hosanagar, and he had shifted base to Ujire two years back. It is likely that the woman hanged her children before hanging herself from the same noose. The police said that so far they could not arrive at a specific conclusion. It is said that the couple had married four years back. Therefore, investigation by the tahsildar would be necessary. Police sub-inspector, Ravi B S, said that such cases can be probed by the police only if the wedded life has completed seven years.
On the basis of complaint made by the brother of the woman, a case was registered in the police station here. Police personnel visited the spot and began probe.
