Bhatkal, Jan 22: Various Vedic rites were held on Wednesday January 21 to observe the 400th death anniversary of Sri Yadavendrateerta Swamiji, thought to be the first Swami of Sri Kashi Math.
The prayers began on early Wednesday morning, followed by ‘Ganapati Puja’, ‘Gowrimatraka Puja’, ‘Devanandi Puja’, installation of ‘Bhagavattojana Kalasha’ and ‘Kalsotta Puja’.
‘Chakrabdi Mandala Puja’ was offered by hundreds of priests in the Mandal, decorated with various colours.
Panchavishanti Kalabishek was offered to the temple deity Sri Venkataramana and holy water was sprinkled on Sri Yadavendrateerta Swami memorial garden on the occasion.
Purnahuti, Yajnarati, and Prasad Grahana Vedic rituals, were held with fervour at the majestic Mantap laid on the temple premises.
Kashi Math Swami Sudhindrateerta and his disciple Sri Sayamindrateerta offered the puja. Thousands of devotees attended the Vedic rituals and puja.
