Beltangady, Jan 18: In order to create awareness among the people against terrorism, the taluk BJP Yuvamorcha will organize a motor bike rally on Thursday January 22, informed Pratapsimha Nayak, spokesman, BJP Yuvamorcha, speaking at a press conference held here on Friday January 16.
The bike rally will start from Poonjalkatte in the morning, after which a public meeting will be held in front of the local taluk office before concluding at Dharmastala, he informed.
Over 1,000 youths on motor bikes will participate in the rally. Balakrishna Bhat, former member of the legislative council, will address the participants, Nayak revealed. In addition, a meet on the subject of 'Save Country from Terrorism' will be held at Kinnyamma auditorium of Guruvayanakere on Sunday February 1, he added.
The taluk panchayat president is being neglected in every governmental functions and programmes in the taluk. He had not been invited for the inaugural function of the government hospital at Arasinamakki and even for the foundation stone laying ceremony for the road construction at Kokkada, he said.
The MLA representing this constituency was not present at the pre-university college programme of Poonjalkatte, in spite of having accepted the responsibility of being the president of the organizing committee. Henceforth, protests will be held at the site, wherever the taluk panchayat president is not invited for the governmental programmes being held henceforth, he warned.
Kushalappa Gowda, president, BJP taluk committee, Prasad Kumar and Ratna Varma Jain were present at the press conference.
