MANGALORE, Jan 17: First Additional Sessions Judge K.B. Chengappa on Friday granted anticipatory bail to editor of the Kannada daily “Karavali Ale” B.S. Shivaprasad and its reporter Naveen Surinje in the cases registered against them in Mangalore Rural and Mangalore North police stations.
The judge granted anticipatory bail to director of the Chitra Publications (the publishers of the newspaper) S. Rohini in the cases registered against her in the two police stations.
She had secured anticipatory bail in the cases registered against her in Bajpe and Kavoor police stations on Thursday from the court of the second Additional Sessions Judge, H. Sanjeev Kumar.
With this, the three have secured anticipatory bail orders in all the cases filed against them.
The bail applications, filed by chairman and director of Chitra Publications B.V. Seetaram, through his advocate Vikram Hegde, before the Judicial Magistrate First Class II and JMFC III in the four cases, have been posted for Saturday.
