Bantwal, Jan 10: Sri Nityanand Swamiji during his lifetime, preached communal harmony, integration and universal brotherhood. He was like the incarnation of God and led a simple life. He became a leading light to the people irrespective of their religious or caste affiliations. Those who treat Sri Nityanand Swamiji as their Guru and are totally devoted to him find the darkness of their lives being driven away,” said Sri Vijayanand Swamiji of Bevinakoppa.
Sri Vijayanand Swami was speaking at the religious meeting held on the occasion of the consecration of the idol of Sri Govinda Swamiji and Brahmakalashotsava rituals, held at Baddakatte Sri Nityanand Swami Bhajana Mandir here on Thursday January 8.
Kanhangad Sri Nityanand Ashram president Divakar Shetty presided over the programme.
Sri Gurudevanand Swamiji of Odiyoor and Manila Sri Mohandas Swamiji also graced the occasion and stressed the need to worship God for peace and happiness in life as also for a cultured and prosperous society.
Sri Gurudevanand Swamiji also honoured all those who contributed their mite for for the renovation of the Bhajan Mandir.
Bhajana Mandir trustee B Yogish Sapalya, leaders B Sadashiv Bhandary, J Srinivas Jakribettu, Ramaraya Kini, Gajendra Prabhu, B Dinesh Bhandary, Harish Shetty, G Anand, Suresh Kulal, former minister and MLA B Ramanat Rai and others were present.
Cultural committee member Ramdas Bantwal welcomed the gathering. Publicity committee convener Mohan K Sriyan Rayi proposed vote of thanks. B Devdas Shetty compered the programme.
Earlier, the idol of Sri Govind Swami made out of the alloy of five metals, was installed at Sri Nityanand Bhajan Mandir and Brahmakalashotsav was performed under the instructions of Vedamurti B Govind Bhat of Mulleria, Kerala.
About 5,000 devotees participated in the community feast organized on the occasion. Many people had arrived from far off places like Ganeshpuri, Mumbai, Thane, Kanhangad, Udupi and other places to be part of the occasion.
